Due to H1N1 outspread in South Korea, the proposed Asian Amateur Baduk Championship 2009 which was supposedly held from September 18th to 23th was postponed to further date, November 27th – December 1st. Despite the changes, the players of Brunei Igo Society had additional 10 weeks to brush up the skills.
SUNG Hui Yee, one of the strongest female player in Brunei of 6-kyu will be having her one-on-one duel with TAN Chiaw Yee, who’s one of the best female player, on Sunday (27th September, 2009). Selection to represent Brunei in the Single Female Category.

The first round was began at 14 30, In conjunction with this selection, everyone in Brunei is well anticpated to know the strongest female. The game was live-broadcast in Brunei Room for kibitz.
The game went quite even from the starting, until a liberty race on the right side, however, despite of that, the game was considerably playable until the “obvious mistake” at the diagram shown. it was possibly the only opportunity for white to win.
Thus, Chiaw Yee got a leading win.

15 minutes break were given before the second match started. While reviewing and chatting to make themselves feel ease from pressure.
With great ashamed of herself, Hui Yee obviously started with her best ¹ Orthodox Fuseki (平行布局) out. Chiaw Yee who was not familiar with it had gotten the result badly. With the thickness, Hui Yee got an advantage in influence and attacking the center game.
Hui Yee, in the end, killed 3 groups of White, an extreme case of ownage.
