The first round was began at 14 30, In conjunction with this selection, everyone in Brunei is well anticpated to know the strongest female. The game was live-broadcast in Brunei Room for kibitz.

The game went quite even from the starting, until a liberty race on the right side, however, despite of that, the game was considerably playable until the “obvious mistake” at the diagram shown. it was possibly the only opportunity for white to win.

Thus, Chiaw Yee got a leading win.

With great ashamed of herself, Hui Yee obviously started with her best ¹ Orthodox Fuseki (平行布局) out. Chiaw Yee who was not familiar with it had gotten the result badly. With the thickness, Hui Yee got an advantage in influence and attacking the center game.

Hui Yee, in the end, killed 3 groups of White, an extreme case of ownage.

American Go Honor Society (AGHS) is hosting their Pair Go Tournament in KGS (http://gokgs.com) and commencing on the 19th September, 25th September and 26th September of 2009.

Thus, Brunei is sending two teams:- Xinwen and Philip as one team and Hiuhiu and Slide as the second team.

The most remarkable thing in this tournament is that this is rather a very challenging Rengo tournament where all players are at dan and also Andy Liu (Bigbadwolf 7d) is joining; moreover, admin team (javaness and sweety) joining as well!

The game started rather late at local time (GMT+8) 01 00 on the 20th September, 2009. The first opponent’s team was against underwater (Sean He) and sp1key0 (Ji Sang Kim).

The game started quite complicated with the unfamiliar joseki at 7 the followed-up to white 8 then cut at 10. Then another unfamiliar joseki at the top right when black responded the high pincer of white with move 47.

The game became very complicated and tough for Xinwen and Flamehaze after the cutting at 73 and etc. Thus resigned in the end.

The second game was started at 03 00 against ronm (Ron Mackenzie) x munily (Mulin Yang). The game went quite well until white invaded 3-3 on the top right, and eventually happened to create a double Ko situation which was very disadvantageous for Xinwen and Flamehaze.

However, through this double Ko situation, Xinwen had acquired a new knowledge in playing rengo where you may skip opponent’s turn by sacrificing your own. This way, the partner may focus on his/her sente and becomes his/her own game.

In the end, Xinwen had to resign.
